1. Bring a positive attitude.
2. Think and make wise choices.
3. Follow directions correctly the first time.

Classroom Supplies
All students are asked to supply the items specified in the link below. The purpose of the required supplies is students can remain organized, track literacy progress, and participate actively in a variety of classroom activities. All supplies are due in class on Monday, 14 August 2017. While I ask that all students supply the items, I understand circumstances that could prohibit students from acquiring them. For these types of circumstances, I ask that students or parents contact me by Friday, 11 August 2017, so that the student and I can discuss alternative means. Thank you in advance!
Classroom Book List
The book list for the eighth-grade Literacy course contains six texts. Students are expected to provide personal copies for all texts WITH THE EXCEPTION of our first text, The Diary of Anne Frank (play version). This text will be read in class using the student textbooks. Electronic, paper, or library-rented versions of the texts are acceptable. I understand circumstances that may hinder being able to supply a text; for these circumstances, please contact me in advance so that we may plan for an alternative supply.
Classroom Procedures
Within the classroom, there are a variety of procedures in place to ensure that class time runs as effectively and efficiently as possible. Students are expected to follow the guidelines for each procedure. The procedure PowerPoints and forms are provided for students' convenience.
Literacy Binder
Each student is responsible for providing and maintaining a literacy binder. The literacy binder is the organizational system of the literacy course. Every handout, quiz, assignment, etc. is given an entry label in the binder. Throughout each quarter, students will be assessed on their ability to organize the binder as well as to make corrections and complete all given handouts, quizzes, assignments, etc. A running list of all binder entries is provided for students' reference. Use the links below to view the binder entries per each quarter.
